propietatio Free Software or Software. What do you defend?

In this post I offer some advantages of free software and proprietary software that I found online.

I wish you would stop in a comment your opinion on this issue.

OR SOFTWARE FREE SOFTWARE OWNER. WHAT DOES?

The advantages set out above are not the most important or the only, they are just ten of the existing advantages in both a model and the other and, of course, there are many commonalities between the two systems here do not come, not to provide elements that help to differentiate and choosing one or the other.
advantages of Free Software

1. Economic (more than one billion euros on Microsoft licensing in Spain annually)

The low or no cost-free products can provide SMEs with services and expand its infrastructure without their efforts are undermined growth because they can not afford to pay large amounts on licensing.

2. Free to use and redistribution

free software licenses allow existing software installation so many times and on as many machines as the user desires.

3. Technological independence

access to source code enables the development of new products without the need to develop the whole process from scratch. Technological secrecy is one of the big brakes and development imbalances in the IP model.

4. Promotion of free competition based on services rather than licenses

One of the business models generated by the free software is hiring customer service. This system allows companies to give service to compete on equal terms, not having ownership of the product which gives the service.

This also produces a change that results in greater customer service and hiring employees, as opposed to systems mainly sustained by the sale of licenses and customer neglect.

5. Support and long-term compatibility

this point, rather than an advantage of free software is a disadvantage proprietary software, so the choice of free software avoids this problem. The seller, once it has reached the highest sales of a product can do, does not care that your customers continue to. The choice is releasing a new product, produce software that uses new technologies for this and not only support for the resolution of the previous failures, trying to make it obsolete by any means, although this could perfectly suit the needs of many users.

6. Standard formats

Standard formats enable higher interoperability between systems, avoiding incompatibilities. Some administrations of the European Union are already making the move to open formats like ODF (Open Document Format).

7. Systems without backdoors and safer

access to source code allows both hackers and security companies around the world to audit the programs, so that the existence of backdoors is illogical because it would highlight and contravenes the interest of the community is that it generates.

8. More rapid and efficient correction of faults

operation and joint interest of the community has shown more quickly resolve security flaws in free software, which unfortunately in proprietary software is more difficult and expensive. When notified of the proprietary software companies, they initially denied the existence of such failure by questions of image and when he finally admitted the existence of these bugs take months to provide security patches.

9. Simple and unified software management

Currently most Linux distributions incorporate any of the systems that unify the method of installing programs, libraries, etc.. by users. This leads to simplify to the point of check or uncheck a box for the software management, and allow access to the thousands of applications existing safe and free at the same time avoiding having to resort to questionable ethics Web pages from which users unknowingly install spyware or viruses on their systems. This access and management system software is almost utopian if extrapolated to the market owner.

10. Expanding system

especially economic advantages that provide free solutions for many businesses and community contributions have enabled a steady growth of free software to more than occasionally as the web server, the market owner.

Free software is no longer a promise but a reality and is used production systems for some of the most important technology companies such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Google, Hewlett-Packard, etc.. Ironically, even Microsoft, which has its own tools, GNU Linux used in many of its servers. We can certainly foresee a future job growth and a strengthening its well deserved.

ADVANTAGES OF PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE

1. Owned and decided to use the software by the company

The development of most software requires significant investments for research and development. This effort, if not protected would be in vain, since the competition could be appropriated immediately after the end product for their own purposes. This ensures the producer be compensated by the investment, thereby promoting further development.

2. Support for all types of hardware

Referring of course only the mainstream OS market, which is Microsoft Windows, and not to other Unix-like operating systems, which is a minority. Given that the current market dominance invites manufacturers of devices for personal computers to produce drivers or hardware only compatible with Windows. So the choice of operating system Microsoft has ensured a secure hardware support. Although

to be fair, I should say that the support from the manufacturers is generally limited to current operating system. The following operating system versions are not usually support, in order to sell new devices.

3. Best finish for most applications

proprietary software developer usually gives a better finish to applications in matters of both aesthetics and usability of the application. Although many open source applications are an excellent finish, here is a special note of the care and effort the developer of proprietary software. At the end of the make money directly to your product and must demonstrate why your product is a better option.

4. Applications are proprietary number one

Obviously, the current market dominance not only of interest to manufacturers of hardware, but also to software. Some of the most demanding applications are, according to areas: Microsoft Office, Nero Burning Rom, 3DStudio, etc ...

5. The entertainment for personal computers is for the proprietary market

Game developers have their sights on the most lucrative market, which is the console and the ultimate personal computer. Moreover, in recent practice benefit all Microsoft Windows titles.

6. Less need for technical expertise

The best finish of most proprietary software systems and de facto standards now allow for a simplification of dealing with such systems, giving access to its use and administration, which require less technical training, reducing maintenance costs.

This is certainly an advantage for the implementation of these systems, although we must not forget that the slightest knowledge of the system resulting in the inability to surround the simple management tools to resolve errors or expand the possibilities of them.

7. Increased job market

Like many of the remaining benefits due to market dominance, do not overlook any computer-related work will, in almost all cases, to know proprietary software tools.

8. Better protection of copyrighted works

The copyrighted works are benefited by copy mechanisms, such as DRM and other measures to offset to some extent impede piracy. The phenomenon of piracy, is in constant debate about who benefits and who really hurts (see which companies the biggest profits obtained, despite being the most competitive offering pirated and sometimes better products), although that, of course, is another argument that deserves to be treated separately.

9. Product Unification

One of the most significant advantages of proprietary software is the centralized decision making is done around a product line, by not deviating from the main idea and creating highly functional and compatible products.

Here, free software has a distinct disadvantage, to be produced and decisions taken by an excess of decentralized groups and agencies working in parallel lines do not reach many Sometimes agreements between them. This causes sometimes have a big mess for developers and end users who do not know which way to take. It also generates products whose support leaves much to be desired.

analysis points made, as can be seen is referred mainly to the use of software on personal computers, but also can be extended greatly to consumer electronics products (routers, video players, etc ...) , supercomputers and other computer systems. REFLECTION

Why everybody compares open source and proprietary softare? The real battle between the softare is free and pirated software, PIRATA.

are the only type of software used by most users. " or NO?

TE DA LA VIDA ... SURPRISES

Hello, how are you? I hope you have guessed the character of the preceding article.
I know it's difficult, but wanted to keep the suspense for a couple of days.
Well, I'll tell you who is: nothing more and nothing less than ........?????? M. Hermann Escarrá

Yes, the same clothes and shoes, as they said in those days ...

Today, another of the many opponents of the government.

And here comes my question: If the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who is a consummate Bolivar, and is implementing the project left by the Liberator Simón Bolívar, draft Country, (one of the most beautiful country projects that exist today in our universe) Why Hermann Escarrá, who considers himself a Bolivarian opposed?

answer me this question.

Funny Luau Beach Words

TE DA LA VIDA ... Etiquette

Never better title for an article.
Some time ago, a friend gave me a number of books on the Liberator Simón Bolívar. I was going through the front of the house of Bolivar, here in San Jacinto, and I found this good friend, Reinaldo, I said it was working there in the Bolivarian Society of Venezuela. I mentioned my fondness for reading and above all, on Bolivar. Hence the gift.
One of these wonderful books are devoted to commemorating the 200 anniversary of the birth of Simón Bolívar. The year was 1983, the last of Luis Herrera Campins, the father of the devaluation of the Venezuelan currency.
occasion of this celebration, Bolivarian Society of Venezuela invited a group of historians BOLIVARIAN, read well: HISTORIANS BOLIVARIAN , to take part in a cycle of conferences organized at the headquarters of this institution.
The inauguration was led by President Herrera Campins. Don Alfredo Boulton, an extraordinary Bolivarian was also part of this lecture.
And if you, my dear readers are interested in learning more about the group of historians of the time speakers, I have no problem in mentioning their names, maybe later.
But I want to get down to business. The reason for this article, is the character who wrote it and it was his contribution to the lecture in question.
and read well: I shall transcribe a paragraph of his lecture. I would transcribe it in full but will later. Lean

well: "... is necessary to design a new international legal order, to regulate the causes of wars and conflicts, this requires a new relationship between rich and poor, powerful and weak states. This involves the collection of a New International Economic Order and a bold trade cooperation where benefits can be reciprocal and poor countries can find their ways to further develop economic and social without violating their sovereignty and we believe that cooperation, negotiation, exchange, dialogue, are instruments that can overcome the conflict and confrontation. This would be the option that Latin Americans have in this hour of our singular historical event, there is convergence on the need for profound changes and build a civilization of solidarity, this historic project (that of Bolívar) is of particular importance to the people of America America and can say that the Bolivarian Doctrine is at this time a path definition and a hope. We have the immense responsibility to defeat poverty, to achieve development social economic in our people through a pluralist, democratic, deep social roots. There is a new task, to redeem the great masses of men and women who encuentarn in abject poverty, backwardness and ignorance. We believe that this task is possible, we can overcome injustice and inequality and we can carry out this historic project for the formation of a new international order. The American revolution is to be done, the Bolivarian thought challenges us. Signs of a new hemispheric policy and a different international relations are encouraging, so we must assume with courage and responsibility to deafie of PEACE. Of peace through the elimination of injustice and inequality, peace for the advancement of civilization and freedom, peace to bring about global solidarity and to outlaw any form of human bondage. Surprised the world by accepting the challenge of peace. ".

I like to be on your mind right now, because I know they will be eager to know who said these words.
The other article is interesting, and leaves aside the famous saying of the Liberator when he said at the Congress of Angostura, "The most perfect system of government is one that produces the greatest amount of happiness, the greatest amount of social security and the greatest amount of welfare."

I will allow time to guess who was the author of these words. Just remember, passed the year 1983 when this took place.

South Park French Song On Nambla Episode

.

From a very young, my family taught me rules of courtesy, good manners, be polite, say good morning, ask for things "please, thank you, etc. I remember that for those younger days (mine) and forgive the distance, there was a book that most families owned: Famous CARREÑO Town Planning Manual.
And one of those rules said: "The person who is newly arrived to any site should be the person greetings and presents. I mean,
In the V Summit of the Americas, the U.S. President had the courtesy and made use of these good manners, as above said, and approached the President of Venezuela, a respectful way, as it should be entertaining, some MEN. And for that reason we congratulate him. It is he, Mr. Obama, who is newly arrived to the presidency of the U.S. is the new in these LIDES, therefore, I imagine it must be him who makes contact with all the countries of interest to open new operations, review old ones, and study that can improve on them and so on. Because the government of Venezuela previous government distanced itself from the U.S. by extremedamente the wrong policy of its former chairman.
(already confessed Hilary Clinton).
President Bill Clinton, when he left the White House at the end of his presidency, he left a surplus in the U.S. as had not happened in 100 years or so. And Bush left the U.S. in ruins, with an economic crisis that is affecting everyone. WORLDWIDE. Lease well. WORLDWIDE. And this, this, many people, I find it funny. Especially in my country, VENEZUELA.
media in Venezuela have been handling this situation as if our President had been the one to initiate contact with the president Obama. Nor would it have other connotations, but to welcome a new regional president with whom we have business relationships for over 150 years.
But here we have tried to distort this fact with news that put our President as "the dog with its tail between its legs" as "the handsome one who came out to put in place." As the person who approached Obama to "PULL BOL ...." etc. when what happened was the opposite. It was a gesture of the highest diplomacy between nations, and this situation was exploited by the Presdiente Chavez to give him a book to Mr. Obama, in a gesture to return the courtesy call on Mr. Obama, and thus initiate or take a first step, seeking a new relationship with a new U.S. government
So, I wonder I
Why, if it was something that everyone saw, which was broadcast on all channels in the world, because here in Venezuela, want to see that it was the opposite?
Why, here in Venezuela, President Chavez wants to be a coward, that face to face, no one dares to say the things he says about his opponents?
Why are there so many miserable looking misrepresent the publicly known facts?
But, as always, these miserable, are nothing more than that: MISERABLES. People who have no credibility. And sooner or later, your news is lost into oblivion, leaving them refresh their energies to the next lie.
AH, but those same miserable every day say that in Venezuela there is no FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.
I'm just hoping that the U.S. government in the person of President Obama gives a new direction to its relations with the governments of America and above all, that relations with Venezuela will recover and rebuild, and to be handled with mutual respect we all deserve to see WHERE WILL PUT THE LANGUAGE, this whole game Miserables, that for 10 years or so, is asking the U.S. to invade Venezuela to oust the constitutional President of the Republic Bolivariana de Venezuela. SAME baseness!

When Will My Dog Hair Grow

a little break.

I will not apologize again for having disappeared for a while this my page. I just want to discuss with you some experiences I've had recently to be in touch.
I can tell I was in Puerto Píritu in these days of Easter.
Rumors had reached me was that he was "on the floor, which had been lying all churuatas the boulevard from the beach ... that poor people were not worth half, etc..
Well, I arrived on Saturday, April 4 and to be a fairly normal weekend, there were many people on the beach. And still has not begun the week holy! I imagine that these are families who enjoy the habit of weekends on the beaches of Venezuela.
The town is clean. The churuatas, all but one were in place, indeed, had built premises for the sale of soft drinks, water, snacks, etc. at the end of the boulevard, reaching the mall that never ended, before starting the climb arrives at the military academy.
front of the Laguna, also completing a mall.
The boulevard was full of booths where you could find shirts, hats, sunglasses, various souvenirs, etc.. Movement could be seen.
Of course, nothing compared to a city like Puerto La Cruz, but a question, say I want to make things better. Commented with some of the people that I met that Pto Píritu can become a tourist town, only to have cuentión concepts for the area. In Puerto Píritu
there is no marina. Pto Píritu
In no other kind of entertainment other than the beach, or "parties" that are made in times like Carnival and Easter, with much space to develop. There is a place where you can learn about the history of this people as representative of what was our colonial era.

remember the first time I went, it would be over there in the early 80's. I think
Antonio Armas had not yet built his spectacular home residence.
Well, I still ate the dumplings dogfish to bolivar (Bs.1, oo)
temparanito We arrived in the morning between 8 and 9 am. And immediately my mother sent the children who were always hanging around the house, to buy the aforementioned turnovers. I remember I was 20 or 30 Bs and told them to bring that amount into patties. We ate them all!
There is an anecdote: it is a few years later, as always, would arrive early, my mother gave the child 50 bolivars pies to bring that amount in pies and pies brought her 5 children. Inflation reached.

Returning to the present, I was about 3 years that did not go through those parts. And truth be told, I liked the "face" of the people, as I said earlier, looks clean. Is moving. Always has its flaws: lack of water for several days, there are still outages, or goes out from time to time. In 6 days I was there the light went twice, but after a while. Soon returned more than 5 minutes.
And very importantly, via the coast road is in good condition. Something that I criticized at the time. Hair Diosdao Unfortunately, when he was governor of Miranda state, long neglected this pathway. And I think the people that daily Mirandino and use that via so important, we took their toll. Because there Admittedly, though it was never my cup of tea, Enrique Mendoza always had this route in excellent condition.
Well, I recommend you visit Puerto Píritu, it is worthwhile to spend some days in this town so nice and so pleasant. The beaches are very good and there are plenty, it is 3 or 4 km of beaches, most suitable for bathing.
and breakfasts in the municipal market are spectacular. There are some empanadas with shrimp, do not tell them ... go and try it out.

Chaper Reviews Of Behind Rebel Lines

20 YEARS AGO ... SIMON BOLIVAR

Hello, dear friends. Work activities have kept me very busy and do not give me much time to write in this space. But today, for those things in life, two customers failed me this afternoon and decided to go home. Watching TV had a program about the February 27, 1989: "Caracazo." And I brought to mind that fateful day for Venezuela. If I remember correctly, was a Monday. Early began to hear protests against the increase in passenger car and bus for positions in addition to increased fuel announced by the government of Carlos Andres Perez and his "economic package" demanded by the International Monetary Fund . What balls! And excuse me the expression.
I remember most of the morning of that day by calling a friend of mine who owed me some money, until I found. He told me to 4 PM of that day, passed by the CCCT, and there he would pay the debt. In the riots of the day, my children did not have classes, so I took them to visit my friend. We arrived at 4 and 20 PM approximately. The friend had not arrived but they said it was close. I was about to arrive. Arrived, I paid and drove my children and me. We got the car, we started, but we do not move much because the traffic was too slow. To spend about 20 minutes and we went, I told my children: "We're going back, we see a movie in the cinema and later, when there is less traffic, we're going home. And we did. We bought popcorn, soft drinks , etc, and as we saw a movie at 7:30 PM, we left the cinema. We got in the car and ... nothing. The traffic was still detained. The exit to Chacao, El Silencio, etc, not moving. After a while stuck in that queue, I thought: "... and if I go for Altamira, I go to the Cota Mil, under the zuassss Baralt and headed for the house ..."
And I did. I looked like heads to Altamira, and so move slowly until I came to La Cota Mil. But to reach Baralt Avenue, at the height of the San José del Avila Church, the large parking lot. Did not move any car, but gunfire and explosions were heard, then I worry. The news was no radio, tuned into Capital Radio, Radio Caracas Radio Directions, news etc and zero about what was happening. People in the car said that at the Plaza Miranda had a confrontation between police and demonstrators. But it was too much the amount of explosions that were heard to break up a demonstration as we were accustomed to seeing on TV, almost every Thursday, at the gates of the UCV. And at this time of night? How odd!
That was very strange. Cars were not moving. The hours passed, my children scared and one without learning anything. The radio gave no news.
I had to find another exit. I thought, I'm going for La Pastora, low for Lidice to Avenida Sucre, I climb Mount Mercy, looking Moran and zuazzzzz Avenue ... straight home. I made commentary on some of the drivers to give me a little space and pulled, some followed me. In front of me were 3 cars, making the same journey. We crossed La Pastora, Lidice and we started down the avenue towards Sucre y. .. This is my surprise, when I see a lot of people, carrying shopping carts, boxes full of food, bags, bags of "not that" I told my kids watch this mess, people are stealing from a supermarket . Suddenly, as we reach Sucre Avenue, just half a block away, a patrol of the Metropolitan Police, gets in the way and we bar the way, and began firing at the people who ran with the things looted. I told the children to lie on the floor. The poor were that they came out the heart. Do not get up, I shouted. Houses and buildings threw him to the police patrol a number of bottles and stones that these were displaced. Seize the moment and we jump, searching for sunbed paguita Church at Mount Mercy and do the thinking, but when I reached the first block of Mount Mercy, the disruption was greater. The streets were crowded with garbage containers on fire, burned cars, people like crazy ... and said, "I cross the sheath or January 23 in those conditions."
So I could, I returned, I went through and came to Caño Amarillo Baralt Avenue again. Children were pale. I tried to reassure them by talking, asking them to help me find a radio station to say something, but NOTHING. RADIO said nothing. I stuck the nose of the car, and I looked up towards the Church of St. Joseph of Avila, and were still a lot of parked cars, hoping not to. I saw down at the Plaza Miranda, and I told my children. Echense the floor, which ripped a million here and that I go through I take them ahead. So a single "cholazo", toured the entire Baralt Avenue, via the Paradise, and without stopping, I flew, to get home. It was after 11 pm the night.
My mother, my sister, all worried about us, but thank God we had already arrived. We told them our Odyssey and we replied that there was looting in parts of Caracas and Guarenas. There was much uproar in the streets, but the radio did not say anything. On TV spent some pictures of what had happened in Guarenas in the morning and that was the trigger for so great an uproar.
The next day, February 28, 1989, the Zaperoco continued. Throughout Caracas, people started coming out into the streets to protest against government economic measures against Carlos Andres Perez. There was a trade that was not looted. A Automercado, a wine cellar. People were so crazy. Then came the worst: the great slaughter of Venezuelans at the hands of the Metropolitan Police, Guard and the national army. Yet, 20 years later, no one knows exactly the number of Venezuelans who died in the 2 or 3 days of riots. The government announced "The curfew from 6 pm in the afternoon. Everyone should stay home. Guarantees were suspended. etc, etc, etc. The death toll was incalculable. 2000?, 3000?, 5000?. Nobody said anything. Carlos Andres Perez said most of the dead and injured was due to the glass of the people broke windows to loot. But ... days later, one was walking in certain neighborhoods of Caracas and saw buildings that were shot at "close range" as the boys.
is 20 years since that tragedy. Tragedy served to awaken a people who had been subjected for almost 40 years to live off the crumbs left by the rulers who "went to this country" from Romulo Betancourt to this 2nd CAP government. IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET
