| Time at which the president talks to the French ambassador |
SANTO DOMINGO-The rector of the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), Matthew Aquino Febrillet teacher, his office received a courtesy visit by France's ambassador to the Dominican Republic Roland Dubertrand licensed with the aim of strengthening ties cooperation between the European country and academia.
Febrillet Aquino said the oldest University in the New World is poised to transform the curriculum which includes the renovation of the School of Languages, a to develop the French language and English and Portuguese, among others that are taught in that institution.
The highest authority in the house of higher learning said that relations with the French universities are of great benefit, so that "these agreements will strengthen the academic development of students and teachers of the UASD, now that the academy prepares to strengthen languages, especially French. "
For his part, Ambassador Dubertrand appreciated the welcome they gave the president and explained that last year the Dominican government and the French signed a letter of intent that will be effective for three years, to to protect and track the development of programs established in the various agreements made by both countries, but especially those signed with the UASD, through MESCYT and French universities.
The welcome ceremony was represented also by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, and Professor Vegazo Francisco teacher, doctor Jorge Asjana David, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Health, Dr. Maura Canario and in charge of conventions, teacher RocĂo Billini. While Mrs. Catherine Lorin Nac-ambassador was accompanied Dubertrand.
